What it is for
Iron tools and sword, iron armor (24 ingots), the bucket (3), shears (2), keys, the lantern, the saddle, steel, and the frames of most machines.
Why it exists
The first metal: almost three times the life of stone.

The iron ingot opens the iron age.
How to get it
In the Furnace: one grid cell of Iron ore (16 voxels) in the input, 4 coal or charcoal in the reducer slot: one ingot in 12 seconds.
