How to get it
Steel ingots in the armor shapes: helmet 5, chestplate 8, leggings 7, boots 4. A steel ingot is an iron ingot cemented with 2 coal in the Furnace.
What it is for
60 % protection for the weight of iron; big blows (over 25 damage) pierce it less than softer metals.
Why it exists
Steel is iron made better: the knight's armor, the milestone of survival.

Steel armor is the survival milestone: 24 steel ingots, each an iron ingot baked with coal.
Recipe
- In the Furnace: one Iron ingot in the input, 2 coal or charcoal in the reducer slot -- a Steel ingot in 15 s.
- 24 steel ingots in the shapes of Hide armor: helmet 5, chestplate 8, leggings 7, boots 4.

Steel is rigid: a blow of more than 25 damage partly pierces soft armors, much less a steel one.
