Grid
Iron bars that catch what falls on them: loot, items carried by water, what a blower throws. The heart of every farm.
In the game
How to get it
Six iron ingots forged into bars.
What it is for
Its 12 slots fill with whatever lands on it; a conveyor under it carries it away. A dark room over a grid is a mob farm.
Why it exists
Farms run while you are away: something has to pick the loot up.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
The grid is a floor of iron bars that collects items.
Recipe
Six iron ingots.
How it works
- Whatever falls on it goes into its 12 slots: creature loot, eggs, items carried by a current, items thrown by a booster blower.
- A conveyor set under it takes the items out, toward a chest, a Silo or a machine.
- An item detector beside it tells how full it is, on a signal cable.
Ideas
- Under a henhouse: eggs collect themselves.
- At the bottom of a 16 m drop in a dark tower: a zombie farm of bones (see Mob farm).
- Under a pen of the Moon's grazers: what they shed.
