Rocket parts
A rocket is a stack you build yourself: an engine, 1 to 4 tanks, cargo modules, a deployer, the cockpit and the fairing.
In the game
How to get it
Right-click the ground with the engine (it stands on four legs), then right-click the rocket with each part in order: tanks, cargo modules, the satellite deployer if any, the cockpit, the fairing on top. Hold left click to take the top part back.
What it is for
A rocket built to your measure: one tank reaches orbit and comes back, three or four land on the Moon with margin; cargo modules carry 36 stacks each.
Why it exists
Space is made in survival, and it is expensive: every part is the work of the whole industry.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
A rocket is assembled on the ground, part by part, from the bottom up. At most 9 parts.
The parts
| Part | Height, mass | How many | Recipe |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rocket engine | 3.4 m, 1.6 t | 1, at the bottom | 32 titanium ingots, 8 copper sheets, 4 cogwheels, 2 circuit boards, 4 tallow, a fire gland |
| Rocket tank | 6 m, 1 t, 26 m³ | 1 to 4 | 40 aluminium sheets, 2 copper ingots, 16 padding (or 8 dust felt), 8 epoxy |
| Cargo module | 4 m, 1.5 t | 0 to 2 | 24 aluminium sheets, 2 chests, 2 explosives, 4 epoxy |
| Satellite deployer | 900 kg | 0 or 1 | 12 aluminium sheets, 6 titanium sheets, 8 explosives, a circuit board, 4 springs |
| Rocket cockpit | 3 m, 2.4 t | 1 | 16 shell parts (or 8 maw plates), 64 voxels of glass, 16 titanium sheets, 4 circuit boards, 16 aluminium sheets, 4 springs |
| Rocket fairing | 2.6 m, 0.4 t | 1, on top | 24 shell parts (or 12 maw plates), 8 cement, 8 aluminium sheets, 2 explosives |
Padding is wool, feathers or fur; shell parts are chitin, scales, crab shell, troll tusk or sandworm tooth; an explosive is gunpowder or a bomb gland.
Assembling
1. Right-click the ground with the engine: it stands on its four legs. 2. Right-click the rocket with each next part: it is stacked on top. 3. Hold left click to take the top part back; any other right-click opens the rocket screen.
The rocket screen
It shows the rocket part by part with its health and its propellant, the delta-v bar with what each trip needs (orbit and back 5 km/s, Moon landing 7 km/s, Moon and back 8.3 km/s), the destinations, Board, and a Guide of nine animated pages.
