Campfire
Cook raw meat and fish on a turning spit: cooked food feeds twice as much and keeps you full far longer.
In the game
How to get it
3 sticks in a teepee over a row of 3 logs. Set it down, right click it, put raw food and fuel (wood, planks, sticks or coal): 12 s a piece.
What it is for
Cooked steak gives 31 food points and keeps the hunger bar still for 5 minutes; raw, 16 points and 30 seconds.
Why it exists
Cooking is the first big step of survival, and you watch your food turn golden on the spit.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
The campfire is your first kitchen. It needs no coal and no metal.
Recipe
Top row: a stick in the middle. Middle row: a stick on each side. Bottom row: 3 cells of Log. That is a teepee of 3 sticks over 3 logs.
How to use it
- Set it down and right click it (even with raw meat in hand): its screen has a slot for raw food, one for fuel and one for the cooked result.
- Fuel: logs, planks, sticks or coal. Wood burns 12 s per cubic metre, coal 60 s.
- Each piece turns on the spit for 12 seconds, browning from the edges, golden fat and grill marks. Every player around sees the same fire.
- At night the fire lights the place and smokes.
What it cooks
Beef, mutton, chicken, rabbit, bear meat, salmon, cod, tropical fish, crab claws, octopus tentacles -- and an Egg fries.
Why cook
| Food | Raw | Cooked |
|---|---|---|
| Steak | 16 points, 30 s full | 31 points, 5 min full |

| Salmon | 13 points, 15 s | 26 points, 4 min |
| Bear meat | 20 points, 30 s | 39 points, 5 min 30 s |
See Cooking for every food, and the Fireplace, which cooks too and heats your home.
Raw food turns on a spit over the flames until it is cooked through. Feed the fire with wood or coal.
