Refinery
A copper still over a fire: crude oil into kerosene, petrol, diesel, natural gas and tar; plastic; RP-1 rocket fuel.

How to get it
At the grid: 4 copper sheets round an empty centre with 2 small pipes on top, 2 steel plates and bolts in the bottom row. Place it, feed it fuel (or a powered small cable, 3 kW) and crude oil by pipe or bucket, and pick what it makes.
What it is for
Fractions for fuels and natural gas, plastic for electronics, and RP-1, the kerosene rocket propellant, into empty dewars.
Why it exists
The whole oil chain in one machine: one copper column, three choices, every product of crude oil.

The refinery is a copper pot over a fire whose neck runs into a cooled coil. It does everything crude oil can give.
How to make it
At the grid: 4 copper sheets (top corners and middle sides), 2 small pipes (top middle), the centre empty, 2 steel plates in the bottom corners and bolts between them.
Its three choices

Feeding it
- Heat: any fuel in its slot, or a powered small cable (3 kW).
- Crude oil: by the pipe high on its right, or right-click with a bucket. It holds 4 m³.
- Outputs: each cut in its own tank (kerosene 4 m³, natural gas 4 m³, petrol and diesel 2 m³ each), out by its own pipe or into an empty bucket or gas cylinder (right-click). When the gas holder is full, the gas burns in the flare.
- Slots: empty dewars, fuel, the product (plastic or RP-1), tar.
Why it exists
The owner wanted "a total oil treatment plant": the refinery gathers what used to be four machines, with the same mechanics, so a factory can be built round a single column.
Tips
- Plastic from natural gas saves your crude oil for fuels.
- Kerosene is the only way to RP-1: keep a tank of it near the launch pad.
