Rolled metal: iron, copper, aluminium and titanium sheets, and thick steel plates.

How to get it
An ingot in the metal mill on its Sheets choice: 2 sheets of iron, copper, aluminium or titanium in 4 s; a steel ingot gives 1 steel plate.
What it is for
Iron sheets for machines and pipes, copper for the refinery and engines, steel plates for tanks and towers, aluminium and titanium for boats, rockets and stations.
Why it exists
Each metal has its job: cheap iron for casings, steel where it must hold, light aluminium and strong titanium where every kilogram flies.

Sheets are ingots rolled flat in the Metal mill. Each metal gives its own sheet and each has its uses.
How to get them
Metal mill, choice Sheets: 1 ingot gives 2 sheets in 4 s (four times faster on a powered cable). A steel ingot gives 1 steel plate.
What each one is for

Why it exists
The metals are not interchangeable: the cost of a rocket or a station is counted in aluminium and titanium sheets, which is why bauxite and titanium ore matter in the middle of the game.
Tips
- Steel ingots come from the Furnace: an iron ingot and 2 coal, 15 s.
- Do not confuse sheets with the decorative metal plate block, made at the grid from an iron ingot.
