Conveyor
A glass item tube with a belt: 4 items a second at 1 m/s, or 64 a second for the fast one at 4 m/s.
In the game
How to get it
At the grid: 3 hides across the top, 2 iron sheets and a cogwheel below: 4 m of conveyor. Fast: 3 hides, 2 steel plates, 2 cogwheels and tallow. Lay it like a cable from an output port to an input port.
What it is for
Links chests, machines, grids, silos and the fueling tower so items move by themselves: ore in, ingots out, loot to storage.
Why it exists
A conveyor holds nothing: it only passes items from one node to another, so nothing is ever lost on a belt.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
How to make it
| Conveyor | Recipe | Gives | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conveyor | 3 hides (top row), 2 iron sheets and a cogwheel between them | 4 m | 1 m/s, 4 items a second |
| Fast conveyor | 3 hides, 2 steel plates, 2 cogwheels, tallow | 4 m | 4 m/s, 64 items a second |
How it works
- Lay it in a line from port to port. The ports give the direction: an output pushes, an input takes.
- It holds nothing: each turn it hands up to its rate from the node at one end to the node at the other. The items you see sliding are only a picture of what passed.
- It connects chests, storage furniture, machines with slots, grids, silos and the fueling tower.
- Free downhill: a line carries by itself when its arrival is lower and it is at most 20 m long; otherwise put a Booster blower in it.
- A Junction on a belt is a splitter.
Tips
- Hides are leather or fur: cows, horses, bears...
- Chests and grids only take part while their land is loaded; silos and machines always do.
