Wooden pickaxe
Your first pickaxe: it breaks stone a 1 m cube at a time, about 35 times faster than the hand.
In the game
How to get it
In the grid: 3 cells of planks along the top, 2 sticks down the middle.
What it is for
Break the rock under the grass to get stone, then make stone tools; it also breaks coal and iron ore.
Why it exists
Without a pickaxe, rock stays out of reach.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
The wooden pickaxe is the key that opens the rock.
Recipe
Three cells of Planks across the top row, two sticks below the middle one.
How it works
- Hold the left button on rock: the whole aligned 1 m cube breaks, about a second for stone, and every voxel of it comes to you.
- Speed ×1.10, about 71 cubes of stone before it breaks.
- It also breaks ores: coal and iron near the surface are within reach from the first minutes.
Next
Use your first stone for a stone pickaxe: half again as fast and half again as solid. See also the other Wooden tools.
Digs: breaks the whole 1 m block you aim at, one material at a time. The tool for stone, ore and tunnels.
