Stone
The rock under every land: stone tools, the Furnace, walls. Any rock does the job.
In the game
How to get it
Dig under the grass and dirt with a pickaxe: grey stone, granite, basalt, limestone, sandstone and other rocks are all "any rock".
What it is for
Stone tools and the stone sword, the Furnace (8 cells), stone bricks, fireplaces, plaques and solid walls.
Why it exists
The rock under every land is the second material of the world, right after wood.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
Stone is any rock of the world. The grid does not care which: a stone pickaxe of granite works like one of basalt.
How to get it
Dig with a Wooden pickaxe or better under the grass and dirt. Cliffs, caves and mountains show it bare. Rocks change with the land: limestone and chalk, slate and shale, marble, tuff, andesite, granite, basalt near volcanoes, sandstone of four colours in the canyons.
What it is for
- Stone tools and the stone sword.
- The Furnace: a ring of 8 cells of rock.
- Stone bricks (4 rock cells round a clay mortar), the stone fireplace, stone furniture (tables, benches), stone plaques.
- Building: any rock can be cut into cubes, slabs, stairs, walls and pillars of its own look.
Hardness
Rock is among the hardest natural matter (0.6 s a voxel by hand). Only concrete is harder.
The grey rock under every land. A pickaxe breaks it; it makes the first stone tools, furnaces and solid walls.
