How to get it
One cell of planks, stone, marble, granite, quartz or a metal block beside a stick: four plaques of that material.
What it is for
Name your house, mark a path, label your chests; anyone looking at it within 8 m reads it.
Why it exists
Writable signs, as discreet as the owner wanted: words in the world.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
Recipe
A cell of Planks, stone, marble, granite, quartz or a metal block beside a Stick: 4 plaques. (The same material above a stick makes a chisel.)
Placing
- On a wall: a 1 m × 0.5 m board with four screws.
- On the ground: a board on a post.
- Under a ceiling: a board hung on two chains.
Engraving
Right click it: a small card opens. Type up to 32 characters, Enter engraves. The letters are as big as the board allows: a word is legible from 6 m.
Reading
Look at it from 8 m or closer: its text shows at the aim chip. Ink colour follows the material: dark in light wood, cream in dark wood or stone, gold in marble and quartz, black enamel on metal.
Right-click a block to place it, facing you. Broken, it comes back whole.
