Wingsuit
Fly fast along the cliffs: your gaze steers, diving gives speed, speed lets you climb; Shift folds the wings.
In the game
How to get it
At the sewing machine: 4 silk or cotton fabrics, 2 fibres and 2 strings (15 s). Wear it in the outfit slot.
What it is for
Base jumps from cliffs and mountains: the suit opens by itself as you fall, and banks into turns like an aircraft.
Why it exists
The fastest way down is also the most beautiful -- and the most dangerous.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
The wingsuit spreads cloth wings between your arms, body and legs. It is worn over your armor.
Recipe
At the Sewing machine: 4 silk or cotton fabrics, 2 fibres and 2 strings. 15 seconds. Three designs: Ember, Glacier and Night.
Wearing it
In the outfit slot of your bag (the same slot as a camouflage or warm clothes).
Flying
- Jump into the void: after about 4 m of fall the suit opens by itself and you glide.
- Look where you want to go. Diving gives speed; speed lets you pull up and climb a little.
- Shift folds the wings for a head-down dive; release it to open them again.
- In the view from behind (V) the camera follows from above your back; an altimeter shows height, speed and fall rate, and "OPEN!" below 150 m.
Danger
Hitting a wall at more than 7 m/s hurts (3 points per m/s beyond). Touching the ground fast is worse: a low pass at 140 km/h costs half your health, a dive kills. Open a Paraglider before the ground, or look up to bleed your speed.
