Storage tank
A tall oak tun bound in iron: 16 m³ of one liquid or one gas, no power, no slots.
In the game
How to get it
At the grid: 6 iron sheets round a hollow (both sides and the top corners) with bolts in the top middle. Place it; right-click with a full bucket or cylinder to pour in, with an empty one to fill it; or run pipes to its ports.
What it is for
Keep water, oil, fuels, hydrogen, oxygen or natural gas between machines; a buffer for a whole refinery run.
Why it exists
Simple storage for any fluid: one kind at a time, so nothing ever mixes.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
How to make it
At the grid: 6 iron sheets (the top corners and both sides of the two lower rows) and bolts top middle; the centre and the bottom middle stay empty.
Using it
- Holds 16 m³ of one liquid or one gas, never both, never wet concrete.
- Right-click with a full bucket or Gas cylinder to pour it in; with an empty one to draw.
- Pipes connect to its ports.
- An old barrel keeps working and becomes a tank when broken.
A tall oak tun bound with riveted iron hoops, on a brick plinth: up to 16 cubic metres of one liquid (never wet concrete) or of one gas. Right click with a bucket or a cylinder to pour it in, with an empty one to fill it.
