Automate a machine
A relay, a sensor and a logic gate: a machine that starts and stops on its own.
In the game
How to get it
Put a sensor (level, presence, item detector) on a signal cable, through a logic gate (or an op-amp) into a relay on the machine's power cable.
What it is for
A pump that stops when the tank is full, lights that follow you, a mill that stops when its silo is full: the factory runs while you explore.
Why it exists
The game rewards building systems, not repeating gestures.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
The recipe of automation
1. Sense: a level sensor on a tank, a Presence sensor, an Item detector on a silo. 2. Decide: a Logic gate or an Op-amp (compare with a threshold). 3. Act: a Electric relay on the machine's power cable, a Valve, a Diverter, a door.
Three examples
- Full tank: level sensor → op-amp ">" (threshold 230) → NOT → relay on the pump's motor.
- Welcome light: presence sensor → relay → lamps.
- Full silo: item detector (probe) → op-amp ">" → NOT → relay on the mill.
When the rules get long, one OWL-8 microcontroller does them all.
