Farming & animals · How it works
What animals give
Shear sheep, milk cows and goats, collect eggs, and heal your animals with their food.
In the game
How to get it
Shears on a sheep: 1 to 3 wool. An empty bucket on a cow or goat: milk. Hens lay an egg on the ground every 5 to 10 minutes. Right click a hurt animal with its food to heal it.
What it is for
Wool for fabric, beds and padding; milk to drink; eggs for food and epoxy -- without killing anything.
Why it exists
A farm is an ecosystem: the animals feed the crafts as long as you look after them.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
Farm animals give a lot while alive.
Shearing
Right click a Sheep with Shears: 1 to 3 wool. The shorn sheep grows its fleece back after about 5 minutes of grazing. (A sheep killed unshorn drops 1 or 2 wool.)
Milking
Right click a Cow or a Goat with an empty bucket: 16 voxels of Milk. Once a minute per animal.
Eggs
A hen lays an Egg on the ground every 5 to 10 minutes. A grid under the henhouse catches them.
Healing
Right click a hurt animal with a food it eats:
| Animal | Heals with |
|---|---|
| Cow, sheep, goat | a hay bale |
| Horse | an apple, sugar, a hay bale |
| Behemoth | a hay bale (a lot) |
| Hen | berries |
| Kangaroo | wheat, berries, a hay bale |
| Bear | honey, raw fish, berries, raw meat |
| Dog | meat |
| Dragonling | raw meat |
| Parrot | seeds, berries |
