Sheets and copper wire
The metal mill's two first products: sheets for every casing and copper wire for every coil and cable.
In the game
How to get it
Put an ingot in the metal mill: sheets for iron, copper, aluminium or titanium (2 per ingot; steel gives 1 plate), copper wire for copper (8 per ingot).
What it is for
Sheets build casings, pipes, tanks, hulls and rockets; copper wire makes coils, cables, light bulbs and circuit boards.
Why it exists
Two products open the whole workshop: nearly every machine of the game is sheets around wire.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
With a Metal mill running, ingots become the two parts the workshop asks for most.
How to get them
- Sheets: 1 ingot gives 2 iron, copper, aluminium or titanium sheets in 4 s; a steel ingot gives 1 steel plate.
- Copper wire: 1 copper ingot gives 8 wires in 3 s.
What they are for
- Sheets and plates: casings of machines, conveyors, pipes, tanks, boats, rockets and space stations.
- Copper wire: copper coils, power and signal cables, light bulbs, circuit boards, antennas.
Why it exists
This step is where the workshop starts: from here on, recipes ask for parts rather than raw ingots.
