Geiger counter
Held in the hand, it crackles faster over a uranium field and its dial tells how rich and how deep.
In the game
How to get it
Craft it in the grid: a light bulb on top (its tube), two copper wires and a copper coil across the middle, an iron sheet below.
What it is for
Hold it and walk: the crackle and the needle rise as you near a uranium field. Over one, its dial says how rich the rock is under your feet and how many metres down the field begins. Set your industrial drill where it is loudest.
Why it exists
Uranium fields leave no trace on the ground: only their radiation gives them away.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
