Ship
Engines glued to docks, fuel tanks and a pilot's console turn your station into a ship that flies between orbits.
In the game
How to get it
Place a ship's engine against a dock (up to 4), fuel tanks anywhere aboard (up to 16), a pilot's console (up to 4); pour dewars of liquid oxygen and one fuel into them.
What it is for
Move your station between orbits of the Earth and the Moon, and voyage to community asteroids.
Why it exists
A station that moves: a new ship has no engine, you build its propulsion.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
| Part | Where | Max | Holds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ship's engine | glued to a dock | 4 | 12 m³ |
| Ship's fuel tank | anywhere aboard | 16 | 48 m³ |
| Pilot's console | anywhere aboard | 4 |
Fuel
Right-click an engine, a tank, the console's Fuel button or the dock's: drop dewars (liquid oxygen and one fuel); each poured dewar returns empty.
Orders of size (methane)
An engine alone: about 0.7 km/s (change orbit). With one tank: about 2.5 km/s (the Moon, one way). With two: about 3.5 km/s (round trip). Low orbit to the Moon costs about 1.4 km/s.
