Space · How it works
The planets' dangers
No planet's air can be breathed; each has its own worst: Mars's cold and storms, Venus's acid and weight, Mercury's Sun and night.
In the game
How to get it
Read the HUD: it names the worst danger where you stand and what your gear stands.
What it is for
To choose your gear: the space suit, the thermal suit, the brass pressure suit, cytherite armour for heat and acid, glacite armour for cold. A closed room of your base has air and its own temperature.
Why it exists
Every world is dangerous in its own way, and each has the gear that answers it.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
What each suit stands
| Gear | Heat | Cold | Acid | Pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No suit (no air!) | 45 °C | -20 °C | 0 % | 2 atm |
| Space suit | 120 °C | -150 °C | 10 % | 3 atm |
| Thermal suit | 320 °C | -230 °C | 25 % | 4 atm |
| Brass pressure suit | 500 °C | -80 °C | 85 % | 120 atm |
| Each cytherite armour piece | +40 °C | +10 % | ||
| Each glacite armour piece | -40 °C |
Beyond what your gear stands, you lose health every second: flee to shade, a room or another altitude.
The acid eats
On Venus, in the cloud deck (300 to 380 m) and in the drizzle under it, the acid wears your suit (slowly the brass pressure suit) and eats every armour piece you wear: a piece lasts about 5 minutes in the deck, 20 under it. Cytherite pieces are never eaten.
