Martian dust storm
A rusty fog that rolls over a whole region of Mars for a while: you can lose your way in it.

How to get it
Live through one: stay out in a dust storm for a minute. They come by region (40 by 30 degrees), a few times a Martian week, and last a quarter of an hour or so.
What it is for
Nothing to gain but the knowing: plan your trips, mark your way, and wait in your base.
Why it exists
Mars is a desert with weather.
