How to get it
In the Furnace: 16 voxels of sand in the input and 8 coal or charcoal in the reducer slot -- one silicon in 20 s. Or break a fulgurite in the grid: two silicon, no furnace.

Solar panels, circuit boards, microcontrollers, register banks, and the Celerite alloy.
Why it exists
Sand, coal and fire make the heart of every machine that thinks.

How to make it
- In the Furnace: 16 voxels of sand and 8 coal or charcoal in the reducer slot: one silicon in 20 s.
- Fulgurite, sand fused by lightning, dropped by sand djinns (80 %): one fulgurite alone in the grid gives two silicon.

Solar cells, circuit boards, microcontrollers (from one silicon for 256 bytes to 64 for 4 096), register banks, and the Celerite alloy.
Quartz reduced to its metal: the heart of the electronics to come.
