How to get it
Set a thermal crucible on Mercury at the edge of a pool of molten metal (within 3 m), on the day side: the Sun heats it and it skims a bead every 30 s, nothing to put in. At night the pools freeze and it waits. The lead salamanders of the pools carry a few beads too. 4 hermesite beads in the Furnace: 1 hermesite ingot in 10 s.
What it is for
The Hermesite alloy (2 ingots and a titanium ingot in the hyperbaric press) and one of the nine ingots of the raisonite synthesizer.
Why it exists
Quicksilver of the planet closest to the Sun: the game's fastest metal, gathered by technology rather than by force.
