The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
Glass is melted sand.
How to make it
In the Furnace: 16 voxels of sand, nothing in the reducer: 16 voxels of glass in 8 s. (With 8 coal in the reducer, sand becomes silicon instead.)
What it is for
- Windows: place it voxel by voxel, or cut it into panes (see Block shapes).
- Stained glass: the Dye vat colours it in 16 colours; bone meal makes it clear again.
- Optics: lenses (spyglass, telescope), mirrors (glass backed with gold), light bulbs (see Electric lamps).
- Glassware: drinking glasses, bottles, vases, the Aquarium (see Glasses, bottles and goblets).
- Honey bottles: a honeycomb over 16 voxels of glass.
