Lava serpent
A great serpent of the Sun's lava lakes. It swims in the lava and leaps out at whoever stands on the shore, bites, and flops back in.

How to get it
Lives in the Sun's lava lakes; they gather near players who walk their shores.
What it is for
Defeated, it drops 2 to 4 scales (shell parts of heat shields: cockpits and fairings) and a fire gland. Within 9 m of a lake its leap lands on your feet: keep moving away from the shore.
Why it exists
A danger that makes every lava shore a place to cross fast.

Tips
Drops of lava fall from it out of the lake; a splash of lava marks the place it dives.
How to farm it
Not a farm: they gather near whoever walks a shore. Their scales shield every rocket you still build.
