Nobody lands on Jupiter: put a lightning probe aboard your ship and fly it into orbit round Jupiter. Each copper ingot in it is a dive into the storms: a storm jovite every 45 s. Under the ice of Europa, the leviathan sheds scales of jovite on the sea floor. 2 storm jovites or 4 leviathan scales in the Furnace: 1 jovite ingot in 12 s.
What it is for
The Jovite alloy (2 ingots and a titanium ingot in the hyperbaric press) and one of the nine ingots of the raisonite synthesizer.
Why it exists
Jupiter is all storm: its metal is lightning caught in matter, the engineers' alloy.
