Space · How it works
Black smokers
Glowing chimneys of black rock on the floor of Europa's ocean, 10 to 24 m tall: the only light of the abyss.
In the game
How to get it
Dive in a submarine down to the floor of Europa's ocean: they stand about one every 700 m, never under a hole.
What it is for
Light to steer by in the dark, a landmark, and the glowing chimney rock for your own walls.
Why it exists
On Earth such vents feed whole worlds of life without the Sun: maybe Europa's too.
The same text the game shows in its progress tree and on the item's sheet (I).
Light at the bottom of a dark ocean.
Looks
A mound of dark rock, a chimney crusted with glowing orange seams, a cap, a smaller chimney beside it.
